RGP Bus Dev Producing Leads for NW Ohio

At the IAMC Spring Forum in Little Rock, Ark., the RGP’s Gary Thompson met with 10 new national site consultants, discussing trends, forecasts and opportunities. In addition, Thompson attended a JobsOhio-sponsored dinner with more than 60 corporate real estate professionals, service providers and location consultants.

Last month, the RGP hosted its annual FAM Tour, where local private sector companies helped in promoting the Toledo/Northwest region as a top location for business investment. Ten site consultants from across the country made their way to the Toledo region for a three-day event to learn more about the area’s assets. This event marked the 11th time the RGP played host to this annual gathering of site consultants.

“Our mission is to educate our key markets, businesses and the industrial world on the wonderful attributes of Northwest Ohio – attributes that can help their business succeed,” Thompson said. “And through that education, we will create opportunities for investment and job creation.”

The RGP also engages with a business advisory firm, Site Location Partnership, which assists in connecting the organization with companies and consultants in targeted markets. In May, SLP scheduled a market visit for the RGP in Atlanta to meet with 10 consultants.

“With market visits, you meet directly one-on-one with people in their office, providing the opportunity to discuss more in-depth about their needs and our assets, which ultimately better utilizes their time and helps achieve their goals,” Thompson said.

Moving forward this year, Toledo will host the LiveXchange Fall Forum, which brings site selectors and economic developers together for focused, private conversations about active and upcoming projects. Also in September, the Site Selectors Guild fall event will take place in Cleveland, and then in October, Columbus will host the IAMC fall conference.

“In a two-month period, we’ll have the top corporate and site location professionals in Ohio … that’s impressive and something we’ll take advantage of,” said Thompson.
