Five Northwest Ohio companies received support through the JobsOhio Small Business Grant program during the first quarter of 2026, helping fund equipment purchases, operational expansions and new service offerings. The projects represent $150,000 in grant assistance and are expected to create 47 new jobs while retaining 89 existing positions across the region.

The Regional Growth Partnership (RGP), serving as the lead economic development organization for Northwest Ohio, facilitates the JobsOhio Small Business Grant program across the region to help businesses invest, expand and create jobs. The program is designed to help companies strengthen operations, improve competitiveness and support long-term economic growth throughout the region.

Eligible businesses include those with annual revenues between $100,000 and $25 million, at least one year of operating history within one of JobsOhio’s targeted industries that primarily serve B2B markets, and are planning a qualified investment.

The following Northwest Ohio companies received JobsOhio Small Business Grants in the first quarter of 2026:

Chempace Corporation (Toledo, Lucas County) – Specialty chemical manufacturer serving customers globally, including production of the product Angry Orange. The company is investing in machinery and equipment from the former Prism Lubricant facility, allowing Chempace to expand its portfolio into coolants and lubricants. The project supports continued diversification efforts following a recent ownership transition and will create 15 new jobs while retaining 23 positions.

Ohio Power Systems / OPS Controls (Carey, Wyandot County) – Company designs and builds electrical control systems for industries including remote-control heavy equipment and overhead crane operations. The project includes investment in new equipment to support prototype construction and continued growth of its wiring harness and wireless control manufacturing operations. The project will create three new jobs and retain 21 positions.

Actual Reality Technologies LLC (Perrysburg, Wood County) – Recipient of a $50,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant, the company is expanding its AI-based services for regional businesses and manufacturers, including Owens Illinois. The company also collaborates with educational partners including Toledo Public Schools and Bowling Green State University programs. The expansion will support implementation of predictive maintenance and other AI solutions designed to improve operational efficiency and workforce performance. The project will create 22 new jobs and retain eight positions.

Ohio Rubber Floors (Van Wert, Van Wert County) – Commercial and residential flooring company specializing in custom rubber flooring products for schools, universities, gyms and childcare facilities. The company is investing in an additional water jet cutting machine to increase production capacity and support growing demand. The project will create four new jobs and retain eight positions.

Northwood Industries (Perrysburg, Wood County) – Precision machining and fabrication company serving industries including automotive, food processing, medical, advanced manufacturing and solar energy. Customers include Tronair, Binks, Owens Corning and First Solar. The company is investing in machinery and equipment to expand milling and turning production processes, improving efficiency and supporting growth from both existing customers and new contracts. The project will create three new jobs and retain 29 positions.
