Allen Economic Development Group (AEDG) is thrilled to reveal Google as the business entity behind Project Bosc. We're officially welcoming a global tech leader into the heart of the Allen County community.

This landmark project in Lima, Allen County, Ohio represents a historic $500 million capital investment-one of the largest private-sector commitments in our region’s history, supporting hundreds of construction and infrastructure jobs. Beyond the facility itself, a strategic $50 million is being channeled into local infrastructure, strengthening the foundation of our community. As a hub for powering day-to-day technologies ranging from personal electronics, to hospitals and key businesses, to critical government services, this site will sustain high-impact permanent jobs, anchoring Allen County as a premier destination for the digital economy.

“The $500 million commitment from Google marks a transformative turning point for our regional economy,” stated Cynthia Leis, President/CEO of AEDG. “This is one of the largest private-sector investments in Allen County’s history, confirming our status as a premier hub for global technology and innovation. We are not just creating jobs; we are reinforcing infrastructure, supporting our educational institutions, and safeguarding our community’s digital future.”

"We have had the privilege to experience the skilled workforce and collaborative nature of the communities in Ohio for many years. We look forward to extending this partnership in Lima and Allen County with a forward-thinking leadership team. We are enthusiastic about the opportunity here with Allen County Board of Commissioners, City of Lima, local townships, and local schools. We are excited to anchor our latest operations here and are committed to becoming an integral, supportive member of the Allen County community."

– Molly Kocour Boyle, Head of Midwest Data Center Public Affairs for Google

Google’s commitment to Allen County extends well beyond the facility gates. The project will generate a significant increase in property tax revenue to taxing entities. In addition, through a 15-year tax abatement offset agreement, the company will provide $250,000 in annual funding to Elida Local Schools, ensuring our students benefit directly from this partnership.

Furthermore, collaborative coordination with county officials and the City of Lima has cleared the way for vital enhancements to our regional wastewater, water supply, and roadway infrastructure.

"Elida Local Schools is excited a b o u t the economic growth and opportunities the data center project will present for the district and our students and staff. While we work hard to prepare our students for the future, strong partnerships between education and industry is critical for that success to happen. We are excited for the partnership that will be created with Google and look forward to working with them."

– Joel Mengerink, Elida Local School Superintendent

Google’s arrival marks the beginning of a deep-rooted partnership with Allen County. Even in these early stages of development, the team is actively identifying opportunities to support our local nonprofits and community groups. Their focus remains clear: investing in the STEM initiatives and workforce training that will empower our residents for years to come.

"Google's decision to invest in Northwest Ohio reflects the region's growing role in powering the next generation of the digital economy. With a strong talent pipeline, reliable infrastructure and collaborative economic development network across our 17 counties, Northwest Ohio continues to demonstrate that it is a place where global technology companies can succeed. The Regional Growth Partnership is proud to partner with JobsOhio and the Allen Economic Development Group on projects like this. The hard work starts and ends with Cindy Leis and her team, whose leadership continues to move Allen County forward. When local, regional and state partners align around opportunities like this, it's clear that our strong regional economy is only getting stronger."

– Chase Eikenbary, Regional Growth Partnership Vice President/Project Management
