Creative Liquid Coatings, an injection molding, painting and assembler of plastic components for the transportation industry, has announced plans to expand its Northwest Ohio operations.
The company’s $9 million investment will include adding 94,000 square feet to its existing facility in Montpelier, Ohio, to meet growing production demand from current customers, with expectations to attract additional business.
Earlier today, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a Job Creation Tax Credit for the company.
As an injection molding facility of large plastic parts for more than 20 years, Creative Liquid Coatings will add 50 new jobs as part of this expansion project. The William County company serves the automotive, heavy truck and marine industries.
Creative Liquid Coatings is based in Indiana, employing 1,800 people at its eight locations across the country. The Northwest Ohio location currently employs 279 people.
“We have multiple customers in Ohio and Michigan, so this location was very strategic for us. Our customers continuously work to reduce their inbound logistics costs, so keeping production near their locations is critical.”
– Stephen Geist, President, Creative Liquid Coatings
The plant expansion will include new injection molding machinery and new automated assembly equipment, Geist said.
The company also recognized the collaboration of the many economic development partners in moving this project forward, including JobsOhio, the Regional Growth Partnership and Williams County Economic Development Corporation.
“Creative Liquid Coatings’ expansion reflects the competitive advantage Ohio provides transportation manufacturing suppliers as they look to succeed with proven talent near their customers,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “The company’s investment at its Montpelier facility will improve efficiencies and add 50 new jobs as demand continues to grow for Creative Liquid Coatings’ injection molding, painting and assembly expertise.”
Construction is underway and should be completed in 2025.
"We’re excited that Creative Liquid Coatings has chosen Montpelier for their expansion. This investment reinforces Williams County's position as a prime location for growth in the manufacturing sectors. The success of this project highlights the power of our partnerships and we’re proud to support Creative Liquid Coatings in their continued growth and contribution to our local economy."
