Sandusky County Project Expected to Create 378 New Jobs

A leading plastics manufacturing company announced plans to expand its Northwest Ohio operations to meet growing customer demand.

Revere Plastics Systems LLC has entered into a commercial agreement with an energy storage and solutions provider to supply a critical component in its breakthrough battery technology. The company’s $111 million investment toward injection molding machines, robots, automation and tooling is expected to add 378 new jobs to the Clyde, Ohio, facility in Sandusky County.

“This project opens the door for Revere to broaden its capabilities and establish a stronger foothold in the fast-expanding energy storage industry,” said Kevin Kernan, Chief Executive Officer, Revere Plastics Systems. “It allows us to demonstrate the depth of our full-service engineered solutions and the impact they can deliver in this high-growth sector.”

Operating out of seven manufacturing plants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, Revere Plastics Systems employs more than 1,000 team members in its manufacturing, technical and sales facilities.

The company serves a variety of industries, including automotive, energy and appliances. For the past 25 years, the company has remained in the top 50 plastic injection molders with presses ranging 25 to 3,300 tons. The company addresses complex customer challenges through flexible thinking and deep expertise in design, injection molding, assembly and testing.

Kernan noted the recent surge in data center development, and the significant energy to support it has fueled rapid growth for Revere Plastics Systems. And collaboration with the economic development partners, the skilled team and close proximity to customers has positioned the company to responsibly and effectively support this rapid growth.

“On behalf of the Sandusky County Economic Development Corporation, we would like to congratulate Revere Plastics Systems on this impactful project that will create a significant number of new jobs and investment into the City of Clyde and Sandusky County,” said Beth Hannam, Sandusky County Economic Development Corporation. “This project is a testament to the company’s commitment to fostering economic growth in our region.”

“The leadership for the City of Clyde is excited to learn of the future production expansion at Revere Plastics Systems manufacturing facility at 401 Elm St,” said Doug McCauley, Mayor, City of Clyde. “We are grateful for Revere’s dedication and commitment to the Clyde workforce and community.”

“Advancements in battery technology are unlocking growth across the trillion-dollar artificial intelligence super sector, powering the energy, manufacturing, and data infrastructure that enable AI at scale. Revere has been important to the community in Sandusky County for many years, and this expansion will create 378 new jobs in Clyde while positioning the company to continue to adapt and thrive as demand for new technologies grows.”

Kernan said the project should be completed in the next 18-24 months.

“Our Clyde facility is strategically located in the Midwest, the strongest U.S. region in terms of industrial strength. Led by a highly skilled and dedicated team, our Clyde facility has supported customers across the appliance, energy and automotive markets since 1986.”
