In just the last five years, companies in the food/ag industry have invested more than $1.6 billion into their operations here in Northwest Ohio, creating more than 2.300 new jobs. From field to fork, Northwest Ohio employs thousands of people who cultivate, process, package and distribute food and related products around the world.

With that backdrop, the Regional Growth Partnership recently initiated a marketing campaign highlighting the business assets and opportunities for companies considering Northwest Ohio for a new location. The RGP targeted executives in the food industry from across the country, as well as national site consultants.

The campaign touted such business advantages as a superior supply chain, an abundance of necessary natural resources, including fresh water, and available sites and buildings. The RGP also presented a recent success story featuring Louis Dreyfus Company, which located a new $500 million soybean processing facility in Wyandot County. The company’s new facility will bring 100 new jobs to Upper Sandusky. Officials touted the committed workforce and extensive transportation network as driving reasons for the decision to locate in Northwest Ohio.

Finally, the RGP spotlighted CIFT, a significant resource in Northwest Ohio providing technical expertise, support and solutions to businesses and entrepreneurs in the food industry. The company has gained national recognition as a leader in supporting innovation through its services and vast resources, giving companies in this region, and across Ohio, a competitive business advantage.
