RGP Board Members Support City of Toledo In Effort to Win International Award

TOLEDO, Ohio – Board members of the Regional Growth Partnership (RGP) are being recognized for their leadership in providing financial support to the City of Toledo in its bid for an international award.

A delegation from Toledo will travel to London, England, Nov. 22-26 to compete for the 2007 LivCom Awards, an international program recognizing the most livable communities. Toledo is the only American finalist for the award, which is endorsed by the United Nations Environment Program.

RGP board member companies providing financial support to help cover the city’s expenses include Fifth Third Bank, GM-Powertrain, Marshall & Melhorn, Medical Mutual of Ohio, Mercy Health Partners, Owens Corning and Promedica Health System.

“Our board of directors realizes that such international recognition would bring great value to this region’s economic development efforts,” said Steve Weathers, president and CEO of the RGP. “We are proud that members of our board have taken such a leadership role and we thank them for their contributions and commitment to regional economic development.”

The Regional Growth Partnership is a private nonprofit development corporation dedicated to fostering local, national and international economic growth opportunities for Northwest Ohio.
